snoring
Are you told that you snore loudly? Is your snoring followed by silent pauses? Does your snoring ever wake you or your partner up?

What is snoring?

While you sleep, the muscles of your throat relax, your tongue falls backwards, and the airway at the back of your throat becomes narrow. As you breathe, the walls of the throat begin to vibrate. These vibrations cause the sound of snoring. Sometimes the walls of the throat completely collapse and cause a complete obstruction known as an apnea event (cessation of breathing).

Montreal Sleep Center is dedicated to helping snorers and their partners improve their sleep. Snoring and sleep apnea are treatable conditions. If you think that you may suffer from sleep apnea, please contact us to schedule an appointment.
